The Adventure Game Builder Version v1.5.x is here
When we launched Alpha v1.0 we called it the beginning. Version 1.5.x makes good on that promise. It’s the most significant update to Adventure Game Builder yet, bringing a completely reimagined interface, powerful new build tools, expanded game mechanics, and a raft of improvements designed to help creators work faster, smarter, and with more confidence.
Whether you’re deep into a multi-chapter epic or just starting your first interactive story, v1.5.x gives you a platform that keeps pace with your imagination. Here’s what’s new.
A New Look, Built for Creators
The most immediately noticeable change in v1.5.x is the interface. We’ve rebuilt the UI from the ground up with a cleaner, more focused design that puts your game front and center. Navigation is more intuitive, editors are more spacious, and the overall experience feels faster and less cluttered regardless of how large your project grows.
This isn’t a cosmetic refresh: the new UI is a foundation for everything else in this release. Every tool, panel, and editor has been reconsidered as part of a cohesive whole, so context is always clear and your next step is always within reach.
Two New Build Tools That Change Everything
V1.5.x introduces two new additions to the build toolkit that address something every creator runs into as their game grows: keeping track of the whole picture.
Hints lets you attach contextual guidance to any puzzle, item, location, or challenge in your game. Players can choose to consult a hint without breaking immersion, and you stay in full control of how much guidance is offered and when. It’s great for accessibility and for keeping players engaged rather than frustrated.
Reports gives you a comprehensive, structured overview of your entire game: every location, item, NPC, puzzle, logic flow, and how they all connect to one another. It’s the bird’s-eye view creators have always needed, making it easy to spot gaps, trace logic paths, and audit your game before publishing.
Together, Hints and Reports represent a meaningful step forward in how Adventure Game Builder supports the full creation lifecycle, not just the moment of building, but the review, refinement, and polish that separates a good game from a great one.
A More Powerful and Flexible Parser Based Game Engine
Under the hood, the game engine has received a significant upgrade. Combat has been expanded with dedicated attack and defense options, victory rewards, and defeat consequences, giving action-oriented games far more depth. Items can now respond to direct interaction for more tactile, exploratory gameplay, and hidden items can be revealed through play with full state tracking.
Logic flow handling is smarter and more reliable, and the overall state management system has been improved to handle complex, branching games with greater consistency. The engine that powers your players’ experience is more capable than ever.
Build Together
Collaborative creation is now a first-class feature. You can invite other creators to work on your game with you, with clear role separation between owners and collaborators. Real-time conflict detection means two people editing at once won’t silently overwrite each other’s work, and a full invitation and permission workflow makes it easy to manage who has access to what.
Serialized Stories and Chapter Support
For creators building larger, multi-part adventures, v1.5.x introduces first-class chapter support. Games can now be structured as serialized experiences with per-chapter progress tracking and completion milestones. This opens up new storytelling formats and new monetization possibilities, letting you release chapters over time and reward players who keep coming back.
Better Experiences for Players
It’s not just about the build side. V1.5.x introduces a full support system so players have a clear path to assistance when they need it. A new notification system keeps players informed with in-app messages and optional email updates. And with enhanced analytics throughout the platform, you’ll have real visibility into how players are engaging with your games.
Mobile Export: Coming Soon
The mobile export system is in the final stages of development and testing. Soon, creators will be able to package and publish their games as fully branded native apps for iOS and Android, complete with white-label theming and built-in licensing tools. This is the feature many of you have been waiting for, and we’ll have more to share very soon.
Built to Be Trusted
For creators who share and sell their work, trust matters. V1.5.x adds a comprehensive licensing system with device activation tracking and a self-service licensee portal, all designed to protect the games and content you’ve worked hard to create. The platform also adds two-factor authentication for account security and meets current privacy compliance standards.
